FERTILIZING
Tree and shrub fertilization is an essential component of the Plant
Health Care regime which we recommend. Fertilizing improves plant
vigor and insect & disease resistance while fostering growth. In
the urban environment, trees often suffer from some nutrient deficiency
due to competition with turf and other plants. They do not benefit
from the natural process of nutrient replenishment through decomposition
of organic matter that occurs in the forests. Poor leaf color and
slow growth are often symptoms of nutrient deficiencies and the
weakened plant may become more susceptible to insect and disease
damage. Our staff is well trained in detecting impending problems
and recommending the optimum time, method and type of fertilizer
needed for each individual plant. This is an essential aspect of
preventive tree care.
